Watching a documentary recently of a young lady who had a ‘Cure’ for her acne…. Maggot Tea 🤢 and it got me thinking about the extremes I would have gone too in my peak of suffering acne…
Acne occurs when the skin’s pores clog up with dead skin cells, excess oil, and sometimes bacteria.
Acne is often triggered by hormonal changes in the body, so it is most common in teens (like being a teenager isn’t hard enough) Hormones don’t stop there, so don’t worry teens your not alone.

Serious cases of acne are rarely harmful, but can cause emotional distress and can scar the skin. (Yup! That’s me!)

Food and how it healed the body was something I leant towards. (Other than in salon treatments and strict home care)
“Foods that harm V’s Foods that heal”
Try eating low-GI foods made of complex carbohydrates like:
✅whole grains
✅legumes
✅unprocessed fruits and vegetables
Foods containing these minerals are good to reduce inflammation:
✅ Zinc (the winner for me)
✅ Vitamins A and E
✅ Antioxidants
Some skin-friendly food choices include:
🥕yellow and orange fruits and vegetables such as carrots, apricots, and sweet potatoes
🥬 spinach and other dark green and leafy vegetables

🍅tomatoes and blueberries
🍞whole-wheat bread
🍘brown rice & quinoa
🦃Turkey
🎃pumpkin seeds
beans, peas, and lentils
🐟 salmon, mackerel, and other kinds of fatty fish
🥜nuts
💦 don’t forget the WATER

Everyone’s body is different, and some people find that they get more acne when they eat certain foods. Under your doctor’s supervision, it can be helpful to experiment with your diet to see what works best for you.
